The First Day of The Rest of Our Lives: Today.

Today's the day I want to start

On a journey far away,

A long long way to go

To somewhere I want to stay.

A place where's it's easy

For dreams to change into reality

Ecstasy that will live on

As long as eternity.

I want to sing, I want to dance,

I want the world to know

That, here I'll find my soul, my heart,

And myself, tip to toe.

I want to take everyone I know

In this world of mine,

To live with me in that home of joy,

This place that's so fine.

But what's a better thing to do

than bring that home here;

And make my world beautiful one,

Where there's only love and no fear.

Today's the day I want to start,

To change the world to make it better

Without bombs and guns and boundaries

Where religion is no more than love.

  3. A very well-written piece. Starting life afresh is something that everyone relates to and you have done a great job in expressing your opinion- from a very personal view to one that is at a more global level. I hope that all your future pieces will have a personal touch. I relate to every word that has been written, except for, maybe, the last two lines. And all this with Raag Gujri Todi playing, phenomenal stuff.

The Stepping Stones

They say, failure teaches us lessons- Lessons of endurance, lessons of not giving up, lessons of not worrying about it, and lessons of being happy. It teaches, but do we learn? You guessed it. I failed. And, for some reason this time, I’m kind of happy about it. I’m a CA student, by the way. I had written an exam a couple of months back, and got the news of failing it the second time a couple of days back. After working hard for oh-so-many days and going through all kinds of books, the result was failure. Anyway, I was attending/volunteering a students’ seminar when the results were released. At first, I was really shocked. Like, really really! I didn’t feel like talking to anybody, but I did want somebody to talk to me. However, just to inform all the ‘related parties’, I sent a text message saying ‘I flunked’. Different people gave different reactions. One thought (from my indifferent tone) that it didn’t really bother me, and said, “you anyway don’t seem like you’re...

When God died..

This is an 'excerpt' from my diary..editted and abridged..you have to be my best friend to read the original.. 4th September, 2007 Dear diary, 4.oo AM..Amma(mom) woke me up from sleep..somewhere deep down in sleep (not knowing the time, but knowing it was abnormally early)..I was, kind of, ready with my lines, "We don't have college today Ma, its Janmashtami.Let me sleep"..But, what I heard from her was something I rather never wanted to hear, but knew deep down that it was inevitable.."Thatha (granpa) is no more"..For a while,I just couldn't take it..though knowing well what I heard,I replied out of lack of words, "What nonsense?"..That was probably the most absurd reaction I had ever given to anything. My mind was not prepared. I was not ready to get out of my room now, I thought Nani (Dad) would be crying..and I did not want see that. I was not ready for a scene like that, and will never be, coz that's the last thing I would ...
